I wish I could say that Konata was a normal highschool girl. Instead she's an extreme otaku, in the fact that...90% of what comes out of her mouth is either about anime, video games, or manga. There are times that she even compares what's happening in the world around her to her games as well, much to the dismay of her friends. Her whole world revolves it all.
"How come your passion and intellect only come out when you're being a fangirl?"
It's the truth. Konata is a lazy person, despite being very athletic when she puts her mind to it. She mentions she isn't a part of a sports team because that would cut into her anime watching time. It isn't just altheletically that she's lazy; she's also academically lazy. When it comes to homework, she waits until the very last minute...and does she do it herself? No! Why would she, when she has the smart Kagami as her friend? Yes, that means that she copies off of her homework. But she still somehow pulls through her tests, saying once that she had to pull all nighters to study for them. Generally, even though she seems like she slacks, she averages the same grade as the rest of her friends.
However, when you get her around anime, she becomes motivated. The reason why she got a job? Was because she could go to festivals or cons and buy their anime merchandise. And when she gets there, to the conventions, she's very focused and straight on what she wants to get. She even brought Tsukasa and the unwilling Kagami with her, giving them a map and marking off the vendors she wanted them to buy things from. Everything was maped and timed so that she could get what she wanted before it was gone.
Konata's also very hardcore when it comes to her video games and merchendise. She wants to get the premium condition she can get - and gets upset if things don't turn out the way she wants. And video games? She's always addicted to her MMORPGs and even pulls out her Nintendo DS and states that she "can't go a day without firing that bad boy up." Are we getting the picture yet?
Okay, let's get off of this part of her personality for a minute, then. She's very blunt with her friends and the others around her, not hesitating to tell them what's on her mind. It also goes along with her teasing - mostly about Kagami and her always wanting to be on a diet. Konata points out often what Kagami's eating isn't necessarily helping her (and not in a nice way either), and teases her when she comes across any candy. Even though she does do a fair amount of teasing with her friends, there's a reservation set aside just for Kagami - as if she's her favorite target.
Konata's also a little sensitive about her height, getting a little miffed at short jokes, or getting upset when she realizes she hadn't grown in a year. It's not something she really carries on about often, but when brought up in conversation she'll get a little sensitive about it.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
+ Smart when it counts (to her).
+ Pretty outgoing.
+ Can make millions of references to anime and her video games and whatnot. No seriously. You might be there all day.
+/- Knowledgeable when it comes to anime. She...kind of takes it to the extreme, though.
+/- Blunt. Sometimes it can be a good thing, most of the time a bad thing.
- Lazy, unmotivated.
